Time to forget & look forward to the new regime!!!

The only thing is as was said by scruss, Mclaren’s a Yes-Man with no ideas of his own & for me was the worst of a average lot of club managers that was being interviewed for the job.
You only have to look @ Middleburgh of the last couple of years to see that, loads of money spent (respectively) & no return other then a cup final that they were slaughtered in & should have been knocked out the two previous rounds anyway!!!

I have to say that although I have not totally lost faith in the England set-up, I’m very close to it.
I really can’t see Mclaren lasting very long, he may even be being used a short term measure.

if a different squad has been chosen and those players had been managed better and the tactics were right England could have at least got to the final.
but as it was we were an embarrasment and every bit of blame has to lay at the door of one swedish twit. people knock taylor, hoddle etc but sven really has to be the worst of them all, at least tactically. I mean I dont even think Taylor would have played Rooney as a lone striker.

Maclaren should do better. sure he is not that inspirational, but his time with Man u and Middlesbrough will have at least taught him something.

Nice review.

I like what Spain did. They had Raul as their captain, but he did not start two of their games.

I think Sven played the best XI players not the best team and so it did not have any shape or formation.

Lampard and Gerrard and Rooney cant all be in the same team, they want the same space at times, and even though Lampard has been great in the prem, he would have to be a sub for Euro 2008. Remember this will mean we would have a great option from the bench.

Whilst Crouch has been scoring he is a sub at best. I would like to see Bent partner Rooney up front.

Joe Cole and Lennon looked lively on the wings for England and the back four looked good and played as a unit.

So really we are a couple of players away from being a solid and strong team.

Disappointing but not surprising given the way we’ve been playing over the last few weeks - Owen Hargreaves was our best player on Saturday. Owen fecking Hargreaves!!! That’s how shite the team has been performing.

And on the penalties - do we f*cking practice them or what?

I’m glad England are out… now we can sit back and watch how decent football should be played….
they were an embarrassment and have no right to expect or deserve to be in the final… you only get that by playing fast, flowing, attacking football
and we can’t expect anything different from the “yes-man” mclaren
