Transfer Disaster For Arsenal By Doing Nothing!

Not really a great day for Arsenal in the transfer market.

Today we found out that Barcelona have bought Lilian Thuram and Gianluca Zambrotta from Serie B Juventus.

That means Arsenal won’t be buying the experience they need at the back that Thuram would have offered, especially with Senderos out for 3 months and the surprise loan of Kerrea Gilbert to Cardiff City.

And the Zambrotta deal to Barca also means we’ll even weaker at the back, since he was a Chelsea target.

With Asier Del Horno moving to Valencia, and another left-sided player Damien Duff looking certain to complete a move to the Magpies, it looks certain that Cashley is off to Stamford Bridge.

Losing out on Thuram, loaning Gilbert and losing Cole when we’re weak at the back as it isn’t a good day for the Arsenal!

Arsenal Under Fire Next Season Again? You Bet!

Cole’s Going & Sol’s Gone. Oh Dear…

If you asked most Arsenal fans which players you would miss leaving our great club Sol Campbell and Ashley Cole wouldn’t be at the top of their list.

After all, the legend Dennis Bergkamp is retiring and the dazzling Bobby has left for Villarreal. They gave everything for the club and will be sorely missed.

On the other hand, Cole has been a first class tw*t over the last year or so, and Sol Campbell. Well let’s just say he’s lost the plot.

So what’s the problem with Sol and Cole leaving?

The problem is they’re the last two English senior players in our squad!

And although I’m not arsed with what country you’re from as long as you give it your all when you wear an Arsenal shirt, you can already see the Media vultures circling Emirates Stadium once Cole leaves for Chelski.

We’ll only have Theo Walcott who’s English and I doubt he’ll be starting many games this season!

When Cole and Sol were injured for us last season idiots like Alan Pardew were throwing their two pennies worth when it was none of his business.

Then you have plonkers like Gordon Taylor (what does he actually do?) and Martin Jol jumping on the bandwagon just because it’s Anti-Arsenal.

People talk about giving English players a chance – Wenger has done! They were just not good enough for Arsenal. You don’t expect us to lower our standards to accommodate players from England do you?

The arguement is old but look at players like Jermaine Pennant, Mathew Upson, David Bentley and Jay Boothroyd – not exactly lighting the world on fire!

I just hope Arsenal can capture Curtis Davies so we don’t hear the whole ‘lack of English players’ crap throughout all next season.

What Are Your Favourite Memories Of DB10?

The Man. The Myth. The Absolute Legend.

Well one of Arsenal’s Greatest Ever players is playing his last game in an Arsenal shirt this weekend and like all Arsenal fans I will be devastated the time has come for the man to hang up his boots.

There is no over-stating what the Dutchman has done for Arsenal Football Club in the 11 years he has graced the Highbury turf, grounds across the country and around Europe in a Gunners shirt.

Along with Wenger, Dennis one of the reasons why Arsenal as a football club have gone onto the next level. In 1995 when he arrived with David Platt we were a top 6 team at best, trying to push the likes of United, Villa, Newcastle, Liverpool and Blackburn at the top of the league.

Bruce Rioch, the man who bought Dennis, wasn’t the man to bring that success but the Iceman still had a decent season.

Dennis was forming a superb partnership with Ian Wright and when Wenger arrived on 28th September 1996, it was clear Bergkamp – along with the defensive unit – was the strength of the team.

The very next year was to bring possibly his greatest season in an Arsenal shirt, as he helped Arsenal win the double for the first time since 1971. Dennis also won numerous personal awards and accolades that season including both of the Player of the Season awards for the Premiership. He also came 3rd in the World Player of the Year Awards, behind Roberto Carlos and Ronaldo.

Throughout the Wenger era Bergkamp has been the consistent force on the pitch and has become a legend in the process.

In his time at Arsenal Dennis Bergkamp has won 3 Premiership titles, 4 FA Cups and a sackful of personal awards for Goals of the Month, Goals of the Season, Player of the Year and god knows what else!

Dennis is not just an Arsenal legend but a Premiership legend.

There are far too many great moments the talented Dutchman has brought us over the years and I for one would like to thank Dennis for his years of dedication and simply awesome performances for Arsenal.

Simply outstanding.

Which Name & Number Did You Go For?

Hleb’s Time To Shine…

Just bought my brand new Arsenal home shirt and had HLEB 13 printed on the back. I really think (and hope) that this guy is really going to be a major star in our team next season!

Lasy year I had FABREGAS 15 on the away shirt and HENRY 14 on the redcurrant kit. The away kit is staying the same except for the ‘Fly Emirates’ logo on the front so I won’t bother getting the new away strip – even though Cesc has changed his number to 4 this season. Do’h!

Last Season’s Shirt With Fabregas 15…

So which name and number did you go for on the back of your new Arsenal shirt? Or did you even bother with one at all?

Cole’s Lucky We Have No Defenders…

Cashley Cole Can F*ck Right Off…

Arsene Wenger has spoke out about Cole and said he wants him to stay at the club, even though the stupid tw*t is hell bent on moving and just about p*ssing off every one at Arsenal at the same time.

Where does this guy get off?

The only position we are stuggling at the moment is at the back. Philippe Senderos is out for up to 3 months, Sol Campbell left us this summer and Lauren & Eboue could be doubts for the start of the new season.

And Cashley knows it.

And another reason why he’s getting away with what he wants is because he’s English.

A lot has been made about the lack of English players at Arsenal and with the departure of Campbell only Cole and Theo remain. With Theo unlikely to start many games next season Cole knows that his ‘English-ness’ is a major factor in not being dropped.

Even Arsene Wenger has said publicly that he wants Cole to stay.

Why the hell would you want this idiot to stay after what he’s been up to? After all, we have Clichy and Flamini who are more that capable replacements.

And we could get at least £15 million for Cole!

Any other manager would kick him out of the team, regardless of talent – examples include Cantona at Leeds, Stam & Beckham at United and even Mutu at Chelski.

Some people are saying Wenger is just saying he wants Cashley to stay to make sure we get the best possible price.

Who knows?
