Arsenal 4 Life’s New Joke Section!

We’ve just added a new Jokes & Funnies section to our website – worth checking out if you’re in ever need of a few laughs, especially at the expense of teams we don’t particularly like. And while the section might be new, trust me, the jokes are old and you’ve probably heard them all!

There’s also a comments section at the bottom of the page so if you have any feedback or even better – jokes of your own – then don’t be afraid to submit your funnies! We’re always looking to add to our very thin section.

So click here to see our new jokes page.

You can also see it at any time using the links provided on the right.

We’ve also added a new Video Compilations page which has some of our favourite Arsenal videos from the web.

Please note that we realise that this is probably a complete waste of your time but please don’t let that detract you from visiting this website in the future.

So How Well Are Arsenal Going To Do Next Season?

You would have heard by now our captain-to-be Gilberto Silva telling Dog Breath to effectively shut his mouth after the Chelsea player said that it’s a two horse race between them and Manchester United.

But despite the obvious sh*t-stirring does the diver have a point?

There were glimpses of what Arsenal were capable of last season but can we be consistent enough to really challenge for the league? I for one am optimistic about next season, you have to be right? Otherwise it’s not worth bothering kicking a ball!

But how many players do we have in our squad who are capable of giving a consistently high-level performance week in and week out?

Judging on last season, the only real candidates we honestly say gave a decent performance for the majority of the season would be; Toure, Clichy, Gilberto, Fabregas and Van Persie.

That just isn’t enough.

A big problem we had last season was surrendering the initiative by conceding the first goal on far too many occasions. It could have been that Kolo and Gallas needed time to get acquainted with each other last season so it’ll be interesting to find out whether they can actually play well together in defence next season.

People will point to the wide areas as being a problem to address before the season starts aswell but the fact is that even with an under-par Hleb, Freddie and Rosicky we still managed to create a lot of chances in the majority of our games.

We will never have a problem creating scoring opportunities with the genius that is Cesc Fabregas – our mini Bergkamp/Vieira hybrid.

I would much rather prefer us to concentrate on addressing our problems of conceding sloppy goals from set-pieces.

The other main problem we had was sticking the ball in the net.

We scored 63 goals in the league last season, only one behind Chelsea – but a staggering 20 behind Champions Manchester United. The season before that when we finished 4th on the last day we notched up 68 goals.

That is a big difference to the 87 goals we scored when we finished second to Chelsea in the 2004-2005 season.

Everyone hopes that Eduardo da Silva is the man to convert the huge amount of chances we create in most of our games and if he does so that will certainly buy us at least an extra 10-15 in a season.

So can we do it next season?

Eduardo da Silva Lining For Arsenal Fans?

Goals, Goals, Goals!

Well Arsene has done it again.

He’s bought a player and no-one had any idea it was going to happen. Arsene Wenger is the ultimate stealth in the transfer market – and we all know Arsenal.com only report on completed deals and not speculation!

So who is this new signing?

Well it’s the Brazilian-born and Croatian International Eduardo da Silva, who gave Arsenal a scare last season when he scored the first European goal at the Emirates for Dinamo Zagreb – finishing off Toure’s failed interception and slotting past Almunia in the Champions League Qualifier last August.

He’s also 24 years old, the sort of age Wenger likes to bring in talent.

And Dinamo Zagreb President has said on record that the deal is £16.24 million although there are reports that he was mis-translated and the fee is closer to £8 million. He’ll be joining on a 4 year deal subject to a medical.

His record for the Croatian National team is 7 goals in 12 games which isn’t bad, but he also finished last season with a record 34 goals in the Croatian league – which is quite impressive.

Just take a look at his goals in the video link below.

It might not be the big summer signing of Torres or E’eto that a lot of Arsenal fans had probably been hoping for but I for one am excited about what this guy is capable of.

You might knock the Croatian league, but notching up 34 goals shows that he has at least the natural goalscoring ability that will be vital in converting the numerous chances Arsenal make every game.

That was a big problem last season.

Wenger obviously believes this guy is good enough for Arsenal and the Premiership and who are we to disagree?

The main thing is that we all give this guy a chance.

He might be coming from Croatia but they beat England in the qualifiers – and ‘Dudu’ scored the opening goal in that match. Scoring against Paul Robinson before even joining – that’s a big plus in my book!

Another interesting story is that Fabregas’ agent Joseba Diaz has outlined the little Spaniards desire to stay at the club, but also pointed out Arsenal are going to buy a lot of good players. Does he know something we don’t?

It could be just hearsay but who knows?
