Arshavin was crap yesterday, what game were you watching thegoon?

He lost the ball repeatedly, passes were always being intercepted by Villa players and nothing he tried came off. lutongooner is spot on.

He's going to have to improve and adapt his play quickly if Arsenal are going to continue their good form, otherwise we're going to struggle. He played poorly against Liverpool, Burnley and now Villa, but his ability to score from nothing is keeping him in the main striker role. Maybe Arsene should try Eduardo in the middle and keep Arshavin wide where he has more space.

Arshavin was a 4 at best. Yes I know it's difficult for someone of his size to get the better of giants like Dunne and Cuellar, but on several occasions he had the ball in space and could have layed it off. Instead he dawdled on the ball and got tackled. He's been doing that a lot recently and yesterday was the first time I've heard our fans starting to groan (think Eboue, Diaby) when he lost the ball. He thinks he's got all the time in the world on the ball and as he's the current centre forward he needs to hold it up better.

Diaby a 9, bar Cesc he was by far the motm. Made incisive runs into Villa's defensive third and would have been able to create more if his team-mates' movement was better. There were a few times where he had to run into no man's land because he didn't have any options. Also made a couple of really good tackles when Villa were threatening on the counter.

totally disagree with your ratings! Arshavin did not have the support not that he was bad.he even took a shot on goal that Adebayor would not in a million chances. Theo showed us a hint of his real form so the 6 is unfair, i'd go for 8 cos he made one bad pass, did some good trapping and touches and importantly what he does best, make chances wih his pace, man he even had a crack at goal and had more composure, Nasri would get an 8 for me.why?cos despite not being able to completely gel with arshavin, no one gets the ball from him and he made some great passes that led to some of the good build ups. man, he too had a good crack at the goal, missed it by an inch, i bet you'd be sying different if he had scored. i give him 7.5

Things are looking up. fantastic win. I was hoping for a 1:0 and never dreamed of three beautiful goals like that. I thought Diaby was simply excellent and I think he should be tried forward perhaps as a target striker? Song has been so consistent recently that you almost take him for granted. He's superb and will be sadly missed when he goes away. Fabregas is something else, he is a genius and a very lovable one.We are lucky to have him, thanks to another genius AW.
It's obviously Christmas. Just hope Fab's injury isn't too bad. Best wishes to a;; Arsenal fans!

i thought diaby had a great game , but i thought song was absolutley amense apart from a couple of stray passes he was great , I must say the atmosphere was better today and when cesc came on and scored that free kick i nearly fell off the top tier what a moment fucking excellent then he made that run for the second . how important is he for arsenal right now we could lose him for 3 weeks if its serious , with song going and nw denilson injured wenger will have to go in for a midfielder .i though we were shite upfront today eduardo and our little russian having poor game , but we can't have it always .And i must say i thought walcott came on and done very well today .As he has been a fucking retard of late and not fit to wear the shirt , so lets hope he an psuh on from here .So come on u reds this is the most open title race in years and we are right in there (for the moment)

diaby was m.o.t.m. i understand that fabregas changed the game and will get all the plaudits ect...but i thought diaby has been brilliant the last couple of games and is starting to fill me with confidence. the thing is both these games were home games and i've seen him play very poorly away from the emirates quite a few times. lets hope he can push on and become a true star. not vieira mark 2 just because the boring cliche driven media think he looks like paddy. let him become his own player. he reminds me more of zidane than vieira (before you all jump on me i know he's not in zidane's league yet...but that's who he reminds me of).

I agree with Vjs' analysis.
We had 'em pegged back before the sub; Fabregas then gave extra over Denilson.
Fantastic Win!

Diaby was superb, both offensively and when he had to drop back to accomodate Fabregas.

The second half was a little better, but Arsenal still looked lethargic and were missing that leadership to push them on and give them the motivation to go on and win the game.

So on 56 minutes, Arsene Wenger brought on Fabregas.

Not true mate...not true....the time I sae fab come and score I knew what the blogs would be writing it as....

We were all over them for quite some time before fab came...!!! We had them on the run that is quite embarrassing for a team like this villa...We were no way lethargic...!!! We just couldnt finish ...
Just that fab gave that extra bit of quality needed...to win games, championships...!!!
