Vote Here – Who Is To Blame For Arsenal’s Slump In Form?

Arsenal went on an impressive – and surprising – 22 game unbeaten run which was brilliant and showed that with the right ideas and training, we can improve on the football pitch. But even with the new management we are still lacking in key areas, and it seems as if investment is not forthcoming.

It’s been 10 years now since Stan Kroenke got involved with Arsenal and to date has not invested a single penny into improving the team, and constantly hides behind Arsenal’s “self sustaining model’. And correct me if I’m wrong, but he’s possibly the first ever owner not to put any money in and try and help the team on the pitch?

Under Arsene Wenger Arsenal slipped from title challengers, to a Top Four side, to a Top Six side. Unai Emery has taken over and let’s be completely honest here – inherited a Top Six squad. Arsenal are currently 5th and in reality that’s where they should be. Arsenal need investment to go to the next level.

Some players have under performed this season, notably our defence. Lichtsteiner and Mustafi in particular have been awful this season and at their age, won’t improve. The Mesut Özil situation has become a farce – the second highest paid player in the Premier League is out of favour and always “injured”. He’s worse than bloody Darren Anderton!

Then we have the manager. Unai Emery has taken on a mammoth task and has had a lot of problems to deal with. But has he got some of his team selections right?

It’s clear we’ve reached a crunch time in the season and things aren’t falling apart just yet, but could descend into a real slump.

So how can we get back on track? Does the manager need to re-think his tactics and ideas? Do the players need to get their act together and start playing for the badge? Or does Stan Kroenke (finally) need to put his hand in his pockets and actually help strengthen the squad?

  1. To be fair I’m just a lifelong 60 years old supporter but in the last 10 years we’ve gone from being top London club to the bottom London club we are playing rubbish football can’t put a string of passes together which we at one time known for our playing now other are laughing at us to come out & say we can’t afford to pay one of our best players Ramsey & instead paying Ozil a fortune to sit at home and watch it On tv .we need a few new players & get rid of the time wasters

  2. The manager is at fault. We should not play three at the back
All it does is slow the ball getting forward.

And maybe something left field. Like play your best players.

Unai signed 5 players. Against Southampton all 5 started
    Against West ham 3 started.

  3. It is obvious that football managers shoulder the responsibility for the failure of their teams > In Arsenal case it is clear that the new manager Emery and after six month at the club does not know the best players for his first team as well as his confusion about his defense tactics whether to play three central defenders at the back and in what conditions . And it appears that he has not learn the lesson after a number of failures , against Liverpool , Tottenham , Southampton and now even against West ham although many of his injured players are back . what is his explanation for keeping Tarirera on the bench last game??!!

  4. I believe this has to be collective effort. Manager, players and owners.
    Owners:
Everyone says we need to bring in the player in defense and a winger.

    My view:
We have Sokratis who has been very good for Dortmund. It will take time to adapt to English game. Mustafi has not been that great, With Rob Holding injured and Koscielny, Mavropanas ( Apologies if misspelled it) just coming back of injury we do not have a great experience at back. We should be looking to buy within Premier league in Jan period( know it is difficult).
Winger needs to be bought as well..But no money wont help us in any way…
Want to hear from Kronke regarding this..we really do not have money?

    Manager:

Understand he needs time to get the set up. But we should not go down a lot from the position we had in the first half, with the players we have in the squad.

He needs to make sure we finish fighting for Top 4 if not top 4. we cannot be 5 and well behind on points with top 4.
