If Arsenal Sell Fabregas… It Should Be To Madrid!

In the “Cesc Fabregas Transfer Saga” an article from Darren Lewis from the Mirror struck me as very interesting.

Why should Arsenal bow down to the demands (and quick frankly unscrupulous tactics) of Barcelona, who have clearly tried to unsettle our captain and drive down the price.

If Fabregas craves success in Spain and Arsenal are resigned to losing him, then why not sell him to Real Madrid?

It would be the least Laporta and Barcelona deserve, losing their prized target to their direct rivals. And Real Madrid (after forking out an estimated 56 Million Euros for the signature of Jose Mourinho) would be more than capable of giving us the market value of Cesc – especially when it would represent a massive coup against their title challengers Barcelona.

And maybe Arsene Wenger’s “inspiring conversation” opened Cesc’s eyes and made him realise that it is Real Madrid who will be the biggest club in Spain over the next few seasons.

After all, “The Special One” Jose Mourinho will be there and whatever you say about his arrogance and boring football philosophies he wins football matches and trophies. Don’t get me wrong, I personally can’t stand Mourinho but his achievements speak for themselves.

His record in Portugal, England and Italy is nothing short of remarkable and for my money, I would class Real Madrid favourites for La Liga and The Champions League next season. If you told me Inter Milan would win The Champions League last season I would have laughed. Inter are the team that always bottle the big games in Europe but here we are and Inter are European Champions, having knocked out teams like Barcelona, Chelsea and Bayern Munich – the champions of the other 3 big European leagues.

Maybe the “greatest conversation” in Cesc’s life is the big realisation that going to Barcelona isn’t such a great move after all.

  1. He’s not going anywhere. For the first time today we’ve actually heard from somebody who wasn’t a spanish journalist or a representative of Barcelona or a Sky Sports Hack (they’ve never shown us love) and he said his future is in Arsene Wenger’s hands. Meaning either if absolutely wont sell or if an unbelievable offer comes in maybe.

Today was the best day in a few weeks for Arsenal fans I feel, even though you wouldn’t no it with Sky Sports leading with the headline “Fabregas – Future out of my hands” or “I am not focused on my future at Arsenal” from Four Four Two. Unbelievably how they can focus on the doom and gloom at Arsenal, nothing about him saying his future is up to Wenger. It’s a disgrace really how little respect we get when you think about it.

  2. Sounds like he is indirectly saying: Sorry Barcelona but I feel more loved here than anywhere else, even more than with my family, and Arsene Wenger loves me more than my father so I leave it up to him

  3. cesc also said it was down to arsenal and whoever else to sort out his future. the whoever else part makes me wonder,
he didn’t say he wanted to stay. he spoke about arsenal in past tense. i got from his comments that he wants wenger to sign players, if not, sell him and if so it’ll be on the arsenals terms.
i think he’s showing the club he means business. he wants trophies and if they don’t give him the platform to do it, then he wants out.
i hope it encourages the club to invest and keep him happy

  4. He’s said many times if he leaves Arsenal it would be to go to Barcelona, why would Arsenal sell him to another club if its only Barcelona or staying at Arsenal which are his preferences

  5. I agree, Real Madrid are well capable to sign Fabregas at the right price.
In return, Wenger should go for Yoann Gurcuff of Bordeuax as a replacement.
It would be the best signing yet for Aresnal considering the fact that Chamackh has signed for us rom the very same club. Both of these players played really well with each other, which earned them french silverware back at the 08/09 season. Fabregas can leave fo the right money, otherwise remain with Aresnal, because wenger is rebuilding now.
