Is Arsene Going To Make Any More Signings?

We all know that the current Arsenal is threadbare at the moment, and we have some massive games coming up; Liverpool, Udinese and then Manchester United.

Certainly a baptism of fire.

But despite the fact we have players such as Song, Wilshere, Fabregas, Nasri, Eboue, Diaby and Denilson unavailable through injury, suspension, loan and departure, we still have not added to the squad.

I still have the early season optimism that we will use the Cesc money, or at least part of it, to bring in some experience before the transfer window slams shut.

You might call me stupid, but why would Arsene release those players (as well as Vela, Bendtner and Clichy) in what can only be described as a mass exodus? Surely Arsene has people lined up to replace them?

Or is he waiting to see if we qualify for the Champions League?

Or worse, maybe he doesn’t actually have any funds available to spend and he is just taking the fall for the football club?

  1. i believe wenger will spend – but I really cant see any top players wanting to come till they know we have qualified to the champions league as thats where they want to play. only then can he then spend 20-25m
come on lads try and keep the faith- we will destroy our club from within if we dont!!!
true gooner for life through thick and thin- whether we win trophys or lie bottom of the league i bleed arsenal red!!!

  2. Chances are that Wenger will not buy to replace just as he did with Vierra,Henry will just bring in young squad players and cheap kids

  3. I think Wenger still beleive that he’s got a good squad,
I have been following Arsenal for many years, and never seen such a short squad.
Besides,Nasri is a very disripctful footballer, because whatever is written I strongly beleive he wants to quit only for MONEY,like Cashly.
If Wenger did not add at least 3 players we will struggle for 5-7 place

It’s a dangerous game though, buying new players when the season has already started means that they won’t have any time to get to know their new team mates as they would if they had a full pre-season.

Unless we bring in proven Premier League experience of course…

    @steve chilcott

It wouldn’t surprise me if that was the case. Cue “I want to make a mark this season” articles on Arsenal.com from all the youth players.

  5. Could it be that the reason he hasn’t signed any players is because he’s waiting for the result of that big big pressure game to see if we make europe proper next wednesday and if we don’t make it could he be planning to resign?. It wouldn’t be right to sign anybody and then resign wouldn’t it?.

I know this may sound stupid to the majority of Gooners but after saying last week Fab wasn’t leaving the club when the player was on the plane to Barcs so quite honestly anything that happens with Arsene and Arsenal in the future wouldn’t surprise me at all
