Liverpool Win FA Cup & I Get Those Funny Feelings. Again.

Yesterday saw Liverpool win the FA Cup in probably one of the best FA Cup Finals in a long, long time. It was an entertaining game and Steven Gerrard showed again what an awesome player he is and for me he is the best English player in the league – some of the stuff he does is simply outstanding.

But after the huge favour West Ham did for us last week I wanted the Hammers to win it – and they almost did.

But it was wierd watching an FA Cup Final without Arsenal being involved, especially with our excellent record in the competition over the last 10 years.

And with the Champions League Final just around the corner I got those funny feelings again.

No, it’s not because I had lasagne for lunch.

Last season Arsenal won the FA Cup on penalties. Last season Liverpool won the Champions League on penalties. This season, the FA Cup in won on penalties by Liverpool. This season, the Champions League is won on penalties by…?

You never know.

There’s been so many similarities between ourselves and Liverpool this and last season, you wonder if it’s meant to be…

Or is it just me?

  1. One main difference is Liverpool ended 5th in table and miss out 4th to Everton. Arsenal pipped Spurs to 4th.

One difference in league & probably one difference in UCL to offset it ? You’ll never know.

  2. True, but there are so many other similarities.

Like their captain thinking of leaving at the end of the season (Gerrard & Henry), their keeper being the hero (Dudek & Lehmann), arguably their best player leaves the season before to win the Champions League (Owen & Vieira), they both sign a Monaco forward in the January transfer window but he is cup-tied (Adebayor & Morientes), they play Juventus in the QF’s and score two home goals…

    Arsene knows 🙂

  5. Thanks Liverpool FC, and well done yesterday. Glad Gerrard got through the match OK. He is a key man for England. A true footballer, not like those Chelsea wasters who always underperform for England because they don’t get paid the mega bucks that Russian tosser gives them for playing for their country.

So gald Wright Phillips missed out on the squad after he went for money over his career. Wlacott showed these so called big stars how to behave and it has paid big time for him. Enjoy watching footballers who love the game and not the money on the TV at home Shaun!!!!!

  6. Gerrard is pure class. you cant over state that fact. for me he is better than Rooney as an overall player. he can defend, pass, tackle, cross, score and lead the team. he is such a complete player and I believe he can win the world cup for England.
If Arsenal had a Gerrard we’d be right up there challenging for the title I think.
The massive parallels between the 2 clubs’ season are spooky and I think it shows that there is some sort of other wordly linking of ‘souls’
    between the 2 clubs.
we hate Manure and Chavs and our local rivals (spuds) and they also hate Manure, chavs and Everton. But despite some well fought games in the recent history of these 2 clubs there always seems to be a lot of respect for each other.
Arsenal fans will normally back Liverpool in controversial incidents blown up in the media and I hope they do the same for us because we dont have many other allies.
