Is The Higuain Deal / TLTDTEW Dead in The Water?

Only yesterday I posted about the Higuain “deal” and whether we should be worried at TLTDTEW (The Longest Transfer Deal That Ever Was) taking so long. Now, Real Madrid President Florentino Perez has come out and said:

“We don’t want Higuaín to leave.

“What’s more no-one from Arsenal has come to us and made us any offers at all for him. There are no offers on the table.”

So what the hell is going on?

After our £30 million bid for Luis Suarez was rejected by Liverpool today, now we find out that possibly (and maybe Perez is playing mind games) that the deal for Gonzalo Higuain was never a realistic proposition in the first place!

In terms of Arsenal conducting themselves in the transfer market, they certainly are making fools out of themselves.

Unless Arsenal are actually serious about bringing in Luis Suarez and £30 million was just an opening bid?

Personally though, it seems like Arsenal are “flexing their muscle” in the transfer market, and have an excuse when we don’t bring anyone decent in the transfer window. Arsene can turn around and say “we tried to bring in world class players and offered big big money, but it was the selling clubs fault because they would not negotiate.”

Seriously, we might as well put in a big for Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi while we’re at it.

How can we manage to make things so difficult?

We should just be pleased that we’ve managed to wrap up the signing of superstar Yaya Sanogo…

  1. Whilst my own patience is running thin regarding much needed world class reinforcement, I think that you should take down the date and time that you sarcastically referred to Sanogo as a superstar. it isn’t that kid’s fault that he is the only signing so far and remember that he is lighting up that world U20 tourney with 4 goals and an assist and it aint over yet. There are players with similar stats from then world U21 tourney that are subject of 20-30 million bids and we got him for free.
It is probably worth giving him a chance to actually wera the shirt before directing your sarcasm at him or is proactive criticism going to be the goal?

    • I agree Yaya needs to be left out of this one, its always easy to send the neg vibes at a situation were it surrounds a young player with much to prove. Let him wear the shirt for a year or 2 and make your judgement then. What i have seen of him he look well in there with a chance of becoming something special and I would rate him a 8 million man which we got for free so lets see

  2. i personally think arsenal are deceiving the fans. going for players they know they can’t get at a particular price so they can get the fans support again. Come on are we the only club doing transfers. I wont be surprised if arsenal actually paid some of this newspapers to write about this deal in the first place

  3. It surprises me that some people go beyond being entertained by third rate bloggers and tabloids. They seem to actually believe what they read and fomate strong views and experience powerful emotions based on the shit they read. Well serves them right in my opinion for being so bloody stupid. The only site to take notice of is Arsenal.com. They don’t don’t trade in fantasy and rumors.

  4. From the previous post.

Just read the comments. It is really weird how a lot of people have convinced themselves that Suarez is not a racist, never racially abused Evra and is 100% innocent. I do not like Suarez and I can accept it when people admit Suarez was racist but believes he deserves another chance and will change but I cannot accept it when people say he wasn’t racist and even have the cheek to blame it on Evra (the victim).

If Suarez was innocent why did he apologise (saying his own behaviour was unacceptable and it will never happen again) in a formal statement? Why did he accept the 8 match ban? Why did Liverpool not appeal the ban but also chose to accept the ban?

Suarez did not sound innocent to me and I think Liverpool knew that Suarez racially abused Evra but had to try and stick by their player and protect their own club.

  5. A lot of people are also pointing to the fact how Suarez was not charged by the police so he must be innocent. Terry wasn’t charged either. It is very hard to prove in court that Suarez racially abused Evra. Suarez’s laywers, solicitors etc. just like Terry’s can twist the events that took place to make their client seem innocent. There are many cases where the blatantly guilty cannot be found guilty. Just because someone is found guilty/not guilty it does not particularly mean they are guilty/not guilty of the crime.

  11. Presumably higuain’s father might also be a tad pissed off if Real Madrid have given him permission to speak to arsenal without some kind of offer.
I think Wenger should fly to madrid and write a personal cheque for 24 million pounds and bring higuain back with him

  12. Arsenal need a slap in the face im sick to death with the claub we cant strike a deal we need to bring back david dein. 70 mill ok 40 mill on a superstar and 15 mill on a player x 2 thats three player then with all the player we have let go and sold the likes of nic bender hehe 2 mill im sure we can ruffle together 10 million and there is another.

Anyone interested on spending the money reply lets see if we can and lets be real lets see if the players we say can actually be done.

Maybe we can make sense of these people on our board because for me its simple either these bids that have been going on is just a smoke screen for Wenger to get the players he really wants or we haven’t a clue and we need David Dein back at arsenal ok.

  13. When Higuain`s agent (his father) said they had agreed terms and he would soon be watching his son on the PL, once Arsenal had conducted the formal business with Real, was he lying? probably not. When Real stated before the end of last season that Higuain was to be sold, were they also telling porkies? Who knows. In the old days, the buying club approached the selling club, usually via a phone call, followed by a formal offer if the selling club was willing to sell. If the offer was acceptable, the manager spoke to the player to ask if he was interested in joining so and so, and if he was, the buying club negotiated terms with the player or his agent. Nowadays, more often than not, the contact between the two clubs is informal untill the player agrees to the move and the terms on offer, and only then do the two clubs reach a formal agreement. Either Real are attempting to screw a few more mill out of Arsenal, or they have changed their minds. Either way no-one can blame Arsenal for things that are out of their control. It seems to me that both Arsenal and Higuain are being screwed on this one.

  14. I precisely needed to say thanks once again. I do not know the things that I could possibly have gone through in the absence of these tips and hints revealed by you about that problem. It was actually an absolute depressing scenario for me personally, nevertheless considering the specialised tactic you solved that forced me to weep for gladness. Now i’m happier for this information as well as believe you are a

  15. I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting my own blog and was curious what all is needed to get setup?

I’m assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty penny?
I’m not very internet savvy so I’m not 100% sure.
Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Many thanks
